After an overnight in Miami we arrived in Turks and Caicos Islands to be met by the mayhem that is called immigration! After an hour waiting we were through and on our way from the airport passing roads named Power Street (the road that led to the Power Station), Airport Road (the road that led to the Airport) and Ianthe Pratt Road – couldn’t quite work that one out. Once again Lynn excelled in her choice of accommodation, right next to the beach, a supermarket and all of the night time action…..
Talking of night time action we went to the local “fish fry”. The first time we did this was many years ago in Barbados and it was tremendous seeing everyone dressed up in their finest and dancing to Jim Reeves. This was a different affair but we really enjoyed celebrating “Henry the Conch”!
Diving was via a 1 hour boat trip and the viz was excellent! It seems that everyone is using these very small “Go Pro” cameras (appx the size of a large box of matches) with all sorts of contraptions: mounted on a pole, mounted on a headband, wrist mounted, chest mounted! Joking a side the results from these seem excellent and we are flying through Miami where they are sold duty free – watch this space. Talking about cameras Paul dived with a guy who had a scuba mask with a camera combined, apparently it took videos and stills with the lens situated in the middle of his forehead like some strange third eye. To take the pics there were two crosses on the lenses that he lined up with the subject, all sounds good… When Paul asked him what it was like he replied “not very good the mask leaks water, I move my head so much underwater you cannot keep up with the speed the video pans around but at least I don’t need to take a camera underwater”. Paul’s sure he’s happy, probably had too much disposable income and just not sure if he would want to dive with him!!!!!![tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIh7OaNzLq8[/tube][tube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5uPL-7zfig[/tube]
As usual, Paul went in search of the nearest Dive shop, which was called Dive Provo and it just so happened that the girl on the counter was from Washington in County Durham and the owners were from Whitley Bay – what a small world. Unfortunately no discount but there was brilliant visibility when diving…

From here we headed to Panama City to see the Canal
